meeting date: 6 jun 2005 attending: Arpad, Ken, Barry, Todd, Mike, Scott We reviewed the presentation - Needs more consistent use of terminology. - "building block" and "primitive" are used interchangeably - need to change all "primitive" to "building block" - primitive is the lowest level module of digital simulators - element is the lowest level module of analog simulators - What do we want to ask the IBIS committee? - Maintain the library of building blocks - Define building block library - Make sure it's mappable to simulators - Mechanism to publish and control building block library - Place to post templates, less controlled - No ANSI specs - Avoid discussing black box templates for now AR: Arpad to add formal request on the last slide, other changes AR: Mike will make an org chart showing template/bb/element hierarchy (attached presentation) We discussed the equation dilemma in Arpad's email - Uncertain how flexible equation passing is in Verilog-A - Could use array format as a substitute for node referencing - May not be mappable to SPICE engine - Could bury equations in templates instead of passing them - Would result in many more templates - Controlling release of templates would be more important - More work to determine what is mappable - Simulator vendors need to help us decide what is mappable Next meeting: the IBIS summit!
